Technical FAQs

The WinSet Press uses most standard piercing, blanking, compound and progressive dies. However, we do recommend the tool to consist of a die set with a light-weight upper part and ball bearing bushings. For each press model, we’re offering such die sets as an accessory.

The WinSet Punch Press can be configured for any voltage between 110 volts AC and 480 volts AC (50 Hz to 60 Hz, one to three phases). We recommend that you specify the highest voltage and amount of phases available in your facility.

Customers have reported that after 20 million hits still no die sharpening was required. In one particular test, 720,000 pieces were punched in a conventional hydraulic press, but then the die set had to be removed because burrs were showing up. The same tool (without resharpening) was moved to a WinSet Press and produced another 500,000 burr-free parts.

The tool life is especially increased if the length of stroke the punch makes into the material is reduced to a minimum. Therefore it should be considered that in most materials the part is already separated after the punch has entered less than 10% of the material thickness.

Yes. Though we are continuously improving the components we’re eager to maintain backward combability. We’ve also developed the WS6000 controller recently that can be used to replace the 2100XA as well as the HS3500 microprocessor control 1:1.

Depending on the length of cut, up to 0.15″ are feasible in a material with a shear strength of 100 kpsi. Please feel free to send us a piece of your material so that we can provide you with a free blanking sample.
